Mediation is a process in which an impartial third party assists disputants in finding a mutually acceptable solution to their dispute. Mediation is both voluntary and confidential.
Arbitration is the private, judicial determination of a dispute, by an independent third party. An arbitration hearing may involve the use of an individual arbitrator or a tribunal. Arbitrators issue decisions known as “awards” which are made in writing and are generally final and binding on the parties in the case.
